Magazine covers, interior design stores and retail displays in Copenhagen are all connected by focusing on wood. Wood in all forms - raw, polished, lacquered, painted, art. We’ve seen the trend “back to nature” growing for some time now but this is taking it to another level. Denmark has a strong cultural relationship with wood furniture, interiors and crafts from the 50’s and 60’s and it’s exciting to see the Danes embracing their cultural heritage and finding new niches to incorporate it into their daily lives.
Yeah, it partly might be an “anti-digital” reaction, but I would say that it even more is about celebrating where we come from and re-connecting with traditions. To make us more grounded.

Binge-viewing (I love that term) is how most people enjoy watching and engaging with TV entertainment nowadays. Broadcasting and cable television need to hop on board. It was a clever move by Netflix’s to release all House of Cards episodes in 1 go, supplying their users with content that can be streamed and watched whenever they want. Even more interesting that this is Netflix’s own created TV production.
I’m intrigued to see counter-actions within the TV and broadcasting industry.

NYC is turning into Gotham city… “Sandy” is visiting and we don’t have any power anymore. Candles are lit, people are occasionally shouting on the streets, police cars and firetruck sirens are sounding at a distance. Strong gusts are making the windows squeak. So far we’re dry and safe.
